Suspect Arrested for Theft from Motor Vehicle Following CCTV Alert

Incident Summary:

Time: 04:40

Location: De Wet and Malherbe Street  

On 14 February 2025 around 04:41 our CCTV operator noticed a suspect walking with, an oddly shaped bag. Reaction was dispatched and stopped the suspect in Malherbe Street. After questioning, the suspected admitted to the crime of theft from a motor vehicle in De Wet Street. At the scene of the crime, reaction units found the victim and informed him of the incident. A case was opened against the suspect, who was arrested. 

Action Taken: 

1. CCTV operator spotted the suspicious behaviour.
2. Responding units found the suspect.
3. The suspect was questioned and admitted to the crime of theft from the motor vehicle.
4. The suspect was taken to the scene of the crime, where the victim was informed of what transpired.
5. The complainant opened a case and, 
6. SAPS arrested the suspect and investigated the case.
