Suspects, linked to burglaries and other crimes, arrested

At around 10:59, Belrex innovations notified our control room of a suspicious motor vehicle (Toyota Yaris) approaching Potchefstroom on the N12. Belrex manages the large camera stations located along the major entrance routes to Potchefstroom. It was suspected that the vehicle was driving with cloned number plates and that it was possibly involved in a recent residential burglary incident in Rustenburg.
Together with the SAPS and Traffic department, the vehicle was stopped as it entered Potch. A search of the vehicle found that all the vin and engen numbers were scratched off or removed. A bag full of possible housebreaking implements were also found in the boot of the vehicle.
Action Taken:
- Mooirivier Beskerming Together with the SAPS and Traffic dispatched intervention units.
- Three Suspects (occupants of the vehicle) were all arrested.
- The SAPS seized all electronic communication devises as well as the motor vehicle for further investigation.
