Suspicious behavior leads to foot pursuit that ends with shots being fired

Incident Summary:

Location: Reitz street

On 3 May 2025 at about 20:37 our CCTV operator noticed two suspects at a premises acting suspiciously. Reaction was dispatched and upon arrival the suspects started running and jumping in premises. Our reaction followed and at some point (during chase), shots were fired at our reaction officers, by the suspects. The latter managed to escape through a veld area. At the initial premises, it was found that one prefab slab was removed, but that the suspects did not enter the premises.    

Action Taken: 

1. Responding units chased the suspects through several premises.
2. Afriforum neighborhood watch assisted with the search for the suspects.
3. A Drone was utilized for the search.
