On 16 June 2025 at approximately 20:46, a pedestrian was robbed at the corner of President and Rissik Street. Our vigilant CCTV operators picked up the incident in real-time, and reaction vehicles were dispatched. Although the suspect vehicle—without number plates—was initially lost in Promosa, our team didn’t stop there.
Through detailed video analysis and tracking, our operators identified distinctive features of the vehicle and later matched it to a car with number plates fitted. On 26 June 2025, the same vehicle triggered an alert on our system. Our reaction team responded swiftly and intercepted the vehicle.
SAPS took control of the scene. The suspect admitted to the robbery and confessed to removing the number plates. Stolen property belonging to the 16 June victim was also found in the suspect’s possession.
✅ One suspect has been arrested.
🚓 More arrests are expected as investigations continue.
