On 12 September 2025 at around 06:14, information was received from Bellrex Innovations (CCTV) about an Isuzu bakkie with a trailer possibly transporting stolen cattle.
Thanks to quick cooperation between SAPS Potchefstroom Crime Prevention members, Mooirivier Beskerming and Bellrex Innovations the vehicle was stopped.
On the trailer were four cattle, showing fresh brand marks placed over the old ones.
Further investigation led to the rightful owner being traced, who confirmed the cattle were his.
The animals had been stolen during the night with an estimated value of R100 000.00
Action Taken:
- Both the driver and passenger were arrested
- The cattle and vehicle were secured by SAPS
