Incident: Hilux Stolen

Incident Summary:
On 27-11-2024, a coordinated operation led by private organizations and SAPS units resulted in the interception of a stolen white Toyota Hilux bakkie. The vehicle had been stolen minutes earlier in the Bult area. The suspected vehicle was cornered behind the Vyfhoek Mall, where two individuals fled on foot, and a high-speed chase ensued with another suspect vehicle heading toward Carletonville.
Action Taken:
- Responding units cornered the stolen vehicle and pursued the fleeing suspects.
- Drones and trailing dogs were deployed to track and apprehend the two suspects on foot.
- SAPS arrested the suspects and investigated the case.
- Biometric evidence linked the arrested suspects to the stolen vehicle.
Although the suspects were released on bail, the stolen vehicle was recovered. Investigations into additional syndicate activities are ongoing.

Residents are reminded to avoid leaving valuables in parked vehicles and consider anti-theft measures for easily accessible spare tires.

Incident: Trespassing and arrest

Incident Summary:
On 11/12/2024 at around 3:00, our control room received Spotbot alarms from an industrial site. Two suspects could be seen walking around on the premises. Reaction was dispatched and managed to apprehend one suspect.
Action Taken:
- Reaction dispatched and one suspect arrested.
- SAPS was contacted and took the suspect in for further questioning.

Incident: Cable Theft

Location: Corner of Borcherd and Thabo Mbeki
Incident Summary:
On 18-11-2024, employers from Open Serve provided us with a lead regarding a white Toyota double cab bakkie involved in cable theft. An investigation was conducted, and the vehicle’s registration was identified.
On 19-11-2024 at 09:20, the Mooirivier Beskerming CCTV camera operator observed the specific bakkie at the corner of Borcherd and Thabo Mbeki. A response team was dispatched, and SAPS was informed.
Action Taken:
- A reaction unit was dispatched and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
- Two other reaction units were dispatched for support.
- The SAPS took over the scene for further investigation.
