Stolen Golf Clubs were Recovered
On 14 February 2025 around 04:41 our CCTV operator noticed a suspect walking with, an oddly shaped bag. Reaction was dispatched and stopped the suspect in Malherbe Street. After questioning, the suspected admitted to the crime of theft from a motor vehicle in De Wet Street. At the scene of the crime, reaction units found the victim and informed him of the incident. A case was opened against the suspect, who was arrested.
Student Robbed at Gunpoint
At around 6h30, the morning a student was robbed, in Beyers Naude Avenue, at gunpoint. The suspect(s) fled in a vehicle, of which the description and general direction were obtained. Through reviewing the CCTV footage in the general area, our control room identified the suspect vehicle, and a systematic search started.
Trespassing and Arrest
On 11/12/2024 at around 3:00, our control room received Spotbot alarms from an industrial site. Two suspects could be seen walking around on the premises. Reaction was dispatched and managed to apprehend one suspect.
Hilux Stolen
On 27-11-2024, a coordinated operation led by private organizations and SAPS units resulted in the interception of a stolen white Toyota Hilux bakkie. The vehicle had been stolen minutes earlier in the Bult area. The suspected vehicle was cornered behind the Vyfhoek Mall, where two individuals fled on foot, and a high-speed chase ensued with another suspect vehicle heading toward Carletonville.
Cable Theft
On 18-11-2024, employers from Open Serve provided us with a lead regarding a white Toyota double cab bakkie involved in cable theft. An investigation was conducted, and the vehicle’s registration was identified.
On 19-11-2024 at 09:20, the Mooirivier Beskerming CCTV camera operator observed the specific bakkie at the corner of Borcherd and Thabo Mbeki. A response team was dispatched, and SAPS was informed.
